Kids Fishing Trips
The best children-friendly fishing charters in 30A!
Looking for a fishing trip your kids will actually love? Our Kids Fishing Trips are built around simple, fun fishing in calm inshore water — with plenty of coaching, easy-to-use gear, and a relaxed pace that keeps everyone smiling. Whether it’s your child’s first fish ever or you’re planning a family outing during your 30A stay, Captain Marvin makes the experience easy, safe, and memorable.
These trips are private charters, so it’s just your group on the boat. We’ll tailor the day to your family’s goals — from “just want the kids to catch something” to “let’s learn a few techniques and target bigger fish.”
A Perfect Family Trip
No Experience Needed
Kids don’t need fishing experience to have a great time out here. Captain Marvin is patient, hands-on, and great at explaining things in a way children understand.

We focus on:
- Keeping it fun and stress-free
- Simple, effective setups (no complicated gear)
- Plenty of help with baiting hooks, casting, and landing fish
- Short, comfortable runs when possible (less time traveling, more time fishing)
If your kids are excited, curious, or even a little nervous — that’s totally normal. We’ll take it at their pace.

What We’ll Do on a Kids Trip
A typical kids trip is designed to get lines in the water quickly and keep the action steady. Depending on conditions, we may fish:
Inshore bays and calmer protected water
Grass flats and edges where fish feed
Backcountry areas that are comfortable for families
Captain Marvin will coach your kids through the basics: how to hold the rod, when to reel, what a bite feels like, and how to bring fish to the boat. Parents are welcome to fish too, or simply relax and enjoy the ride.
Fish You Might Catch
Kids trips are all about fun opportunities and steady bites. Depending on the season and conditions, we commonly target species such as:
- Spotted Seatrout
- Redfish (seasonal/area dependent)
- Jack Crevalle
- Black Drum
- Flounder
We’ll always fish what gives your family the best chance at success on the day.
